CAPITAL BLOOMS + UKU GLOBAL STYLED SHOOT - BEACH, BOYS, SHROOMS

Hang onto your pants, folx, it’s a windy day in Hansville, Washington, and we’re taking shrooms to the beach.

One of the highlights from this past year has been reconnecting with one of my closest childhood friends, Amy Barene (or for you oldies, Van Cleave), the hard working full-time music teacher and dog mom behind Capital Blooms in Olympia. Please now spend most of your day deep diving her instagram and getting completely lost inside her world of wild, local, foraged, perfectly tangled and styled floral mind.

Amy and I have been spending a lot of time getting into novel-length texting brainblasts, especially when we realized that she and I could really use our niches to create the perfect storm. Amy, a music lover and literally she is a full time teacher (find her cute classroom pictures), had the itch to throw her magic at musicians in ways that you’ve definitely never thought of. Luckily, I know a handful of very handsome crooners and teammates. Sweet Cooper Stoulil and Nathan Reed gracefully allowed me to pin and place Amy’s just incredible pieces onto their clothes on a winter windy morning, and the seriously stellar Uku Global provided this gorgeous ukulele.

It’s a new year! Expand your mind! Did you ever think you’d see mushroom-based floral spreads on instruments or floral bolo ties around the neck of your favorite songwriter? Dream big!

For everyone’s embarrassment I am including a video of me and Amy in 9th grade
